This position focuses on planning and delivering complete nutrition care services for consumers at Danville State Hospital. Through your work, you will help to ensure that nutrition programs meet individual needs and are in alignment with professional standards.

• Plan and organize nutrition assessments, counseling, diet education, and discharge planning.
• Prepare and revise modified diets and monitor consumer acceptance of menu items.
• Attend meetings and recommend nutrition interventions that support consumer health.
• Maintain records, update policies, and assist with computer program meal tracking.
• Provide direction to food service staff involved in nutrition care tasks.
• Complete continuing education and follow current standards for nutrition practice.

• Full‑time employment.
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
• Telework is not permitted.
• Salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases.

• Active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or proof of eligibility for such certification.
• Must meet the PA residency requirement.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.

• Conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act and requires submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police and FBI clearance.
