The EVERSANA Medical Science Liaison/Senior Medical Science Liaison functions as a highly trained, field-based, scientific expert in ophthalmology, particularly retinal disease, who engages health care professionals and leaders in clinical, scientific, value-based care and research-based peer to peer scientific exchange around our client’s product.
Following regulatory and corporate guidelines, they will facilitate and build scientific relationships and collaborations with scientific communities. This position interacts with local, regional, and national Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and health care practitioners (HCPs), as well as professional societies and organizations. The MSL will need to be fully engaged with pertinent professional societies, as well as other value-based institutions and associations including ophthalmology and optometry clinics and retinal specialists that are involved with the treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD).
The MSL will be the field based scientific expert regarding our client’s product.
- Function as the primary medical point of contact in geographic area.
- Maintain clinical and scientific expertise in ophthalmology with specific focus in standards of care related to the treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), commonly known as wet AMD.
- Engage in well informed, compliant, robust, and accurate scientific peer exchange around the treatment of wet AMD, and the science our client’s product.
- Engage in medical & scientific exchange with the medical/scientific community including advisory boards.
- Conduct pre-launch KOL profiling efforts to enhance depth of product/disease/scientific knowledge. Facilitate top account/institution profiling efforts to enhance understanding of patient care pathways, including treatment protocol development and novel therapies.
- Develop and track Strategic KOL engagement plans - identify, develop, and maintain long-term collaborative relationships with KOLs within assigned region.
- Support health systems, population health leaders, and medical quality professionals by offering clinical, public health, medical quality, and other scientific information to help guide medical decisions
