The Full Stack SEO Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of scalable web applications, contributing to both front‑end and back‑end development, systems integration, and application support.

This role follows the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and plays a critical role in implementation, delivery, and maintenance efforts. As a Full Stack SEO Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting‑edge applications that support the University’s marketing and recruitment of online and multi‑modality credit and non‑credit programs. The Full Stack SEO Developer focuses on web content delivery, leveraging Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and working alongside the University Communication and Marketing Team (UCM) to enhance Villanova University’s digital presence.

The Full Stack SEO Developer works independently and proactively, driving innovation, supporting digital transformation, and embracing change, ensuring that forward‑thinking solutions align with the university’s evolving needs. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Search Engine Optimization and Analytics: ensure website structure, HTML, CSS, JavaScript are optimized for search engine crawlers, perform audits, set up and configure SEO tools, analyze performance, identify trends and opportunities.
  • Front‑End Development & User

    Experience:

    develop responsive UI using Bootstrap, Mustache.js, React, implement accessibility WCAG, usability and design best practices, assist in wire framing, prototyping and improving interaction design.
  • Back‑End Development & Systems Integration: develop, migrate and enhance web applications, design RESTful APIs, manage database structures, enhance authentication, authorization and security.
  • Performance Optimization, Security & Process Improvement: optimize web performance metrics, server‑side rendering, caching, asset management, apply security best practices, support accessibility and structured content, automate workflows.
  • Collaboration, Research & Innovation: engage stakeholders, work with designers, developers and business units, stay informed on emerging technologies, recommend innovative approaches, contribute to digital transformation strategy.
  • Documentation, Training & Quality Assurance: develop documentation, provide training, conduct QA, regression testing, user acceptance testing, create test plans, mentor junior developers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Formal

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience and/or industry certifications considered.
  • Work Experience:

    3+ years in full‑stack development (including UI/UX) or related roles.
  • Work

    Skills:

    proficiency front‑end development (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Mustache.js, React); proficiency back‑end development (Java, Node.js, Python, or other); strong communication skills; adaptability; ability to work independently; experience with SEO and analytics tools/platforms (Siteimprove, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, Lighthouse, etc.).
  • Specific Job Knowledge: understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices, API design and integration, database management (relational and No

    SQL), security best practices, web content management systems, and SEO best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Work Experience:

    experience in cloud‑based environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), Dev Ops or CI/CD pipeline automation, A/B testing analytics.
  • Work

    Skills:

    familiarity with Dev Ops tools and CI/CD pipelines, knowledge of modern web development patterns (microservices), experience with cloud‑based applications/services (AWS, AEM, Boomi, Siteimprove).
  • Specific Job Knowledge: accessibility best practices, strong SEO knowledge, familiarity with web marketing analytics dashboards, marketing web technologies.
Work Schedule
  • Full-time/12 months.
