Assistant Director – Energy & Resource Management Office
As the Assistant Director, you will oversee a team of high‑voltage electricians and plumbers, manage projects, and ensure the continuous, secure, and efficient operation of Commonwealth buildings.
Responsibilities- Team Management:
Oversee maintenance and repair activities for the high voltage and plumbing teams. - Project Oversight:
Manage projects of various sizes, review scope documents, and evaluate bid proposals. - Operational Guidance:
Provide direction on building maintenance needs and clarify requests with staff and tenants. - Meeting Leadership:
Chair meetings and present updates on projects, impacts, and concerns to leadership. - Performance Supervision:
Handle personnel duties including training, scheduling, evaluations, and discipline. - Emergency Response:
Address urgent maintenance needs and prioritize work to resolve time‑sensitive issues.
- Full‑time employment; on‑call 24 hours, 7 days per week.
- Work hours:
7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch. - Telework:
Up to 2 days per week, subject to having a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and an approved location in Pennsylvania. - Salary:
Starting salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases. - Position is essential:
Required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.
- One year as an Administrative Officer 4 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title), or eight years of progressively responsible management or staff work including personnel, fiscal, budgeting, or procurement; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Valid driver’s license not under suspension.
- Combination of eight years of experience in plumbing and/or electrical work.
- Management experience.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
