Job Description

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – minimum of two days onsite per week, with additional attendance at meetings and events as needed

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 base, plus performance-based incentives

A prominent regional business and civic organization is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven Vice President of Advancement to lead its fundraising, investor engagement, and revenue-growth efforts.

This highly visible leadership role will oversee a significant multi-year fundraising campaign, manage relationships with influential corporate and philanthropic partners, and guide a team responsible for investor engagement and retention. The ideal candidate is a polished, collaborative advancement leader who has personally secured major commitments and can build meaningful relationships with senior executives, board members, foundations, government partners, and civic leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of a multi-million-dollar fundraising campaign, including investor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and retention.
  • Personally manage a portfolio of high-level corporate, foundation, philanthropic, and government relationships.
  • Secure significant six- and seven-figure commitments, sponsor ships, and multi-year investments.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive, multi-year fundraising and revenue-growth strategy.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Investor Relations team while establishing clear performance expectations and accountability measures.
  • Partner with senior leadership and the board to identify, cultivate, and engage prospective investors.
  • Prepare organizational leaders for external investor meetings, presentations, and fundraising discussions.
  • Collaborate across membership, sponsorship, events, and other internal departments to align fundraising and engagement strategies.
  • Guide the development of proposals, sponsorship packages, campaign materials, and investor reports.
  • Use performance data and market insights to evaluate results, identify opportunities, and adjust strategies.
  • Represent the organization at meetings, events, and other business and civic engagements throughout the region.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative culture grounded in trust, accountability, and shared purpose.
Requirements Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in fundraising, advancement, development, corporate relations, strategic partnerships, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-source fundraising or revenue campaigns.
  • Proven ability to personally secure significant six-figure commitments; experience with seven-figure commitments is strongly preferred.
  • Experience raising funds or generating revenue through corporate sponsors, foundations, philanthropic organizations, government partners, or membership-based relationships.
  • Strong leadership experience with a record of managing, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Executive-level communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage senior executives, board members, investors, and civic leaders.
  • Experience developing fundraising strategies, managing major relationship portfolios, and overseeing campaign performance.
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, and comfort representing an organization in highly visible settings.
