This position focuses on supervising crews who maintain, repair, and improve state forest roads, trails, facilities, and equipment. This specialized work includes planning projects, directing staff, supporting forest operations, and ensuring safety in all activities. As a Forest Maintenance Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

  • Crew Supervision:Direct maintenance workers and oversee construction, repair, and upkeep of forest roads and facilities
  • Project Planning:Organize work schedules, assign tasks, and determine equipment and supply needs for projects
  • Facility Maintenance:Manage repairs to state forest buildings, trails, roads, culverts, boundaries, and recreational areas
  • Safety Oversight:Ensure proper safety procedures, investigate concerns, and conduct safety discussions and training
  • Equipment Management:Monitor vehicle and equipment needs, maintain records, and coordinate major repairs
  • Fire Support:Supervise fire crews and assist with fire suppression, patrol, and equipment maintenance

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday - Thursday, and 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Four years of semi-skilled maintenance or construction experience which includes one year in the operation of small and medium size construction or agricultural equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement
  • All positions require possession of an active motor vehicle license.
  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License.
