Blast Technician / Material Handler (Manufacturing) – 2nd Shift
Location:
York, PA (Grantly Plant). Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized 6S environment. Operate various powered equipment, maintain forklift certification, and promote compliance with PPE protocols.
Pay: $31.79 per hour (includes $2.00 per hour shift differential). Bonus Eligible:

- Working from complex mechanical drawings: prepare parts and other products from prints, standard work, and routers; work with cross‑functional teams.
- Workmanship: document quality‑controlled tasks; handle finished product properly; prepare machined surface finish and M number before blast; maintain shot blast centers.
- Blast: operate blast centers with proper PPE; maintain PPE equipment, cleaning and sanitizing after use; maintain blast centers; check levels of the blast filtration system; protect openings, threaded holes, heat/slab numbers and machined surfaces; properly place material in work centers.
- Material Handling: stage work‑in‑process material at proper stations; transport inbound/outbound work‑center material; operate forklifts; transport product on the Rico (training required); rig various products using overhead crane/jib crane (training required); stage blasted parts on shadowed carts/skids.
- Other tasks: dump metal hoppers; weigh refrigerant tanks; move fixturing and other non‑inventory items.
- 1–5 years of related experience in manufacturing: blast experience, material handling, shipping/receiving.
- 1–5 years of forklift driving experience.
- Technical knowledge.
- Communication skills.
- Time management skills.
- Certified forklift, pendent control overhead crane operator.
- Accuracy in identifying, counting, maintaining records.
- Strong math skills (read, write, add, subtract decimals, fractions; use of prints, move tickets, bills of materials, requisitions, CRT transactions).
