Blast Technician / Material Handler (Manufacturing) – 2nd Shift
Join our federal team at the York, PA (Grantly Plant) location. Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized 6S environment, proper quality‑controlled documentation, operating powered equipment, and maintaining forklift certification. Accountable for adhering to and promoting compliance with PPE protocols to ensure a safe work environment.

Pay: $31.79 per hour (includes $2.00 per hour shift differential). Bonus eligible:

- Working from complex mechanical drawings
- Preparing parts and products from prints, standard work, and routers.
- Working with cross‑functional teams.
- Workmanship
- Document quality‑controlled tasks.
- Proper handling of finished product.
- Proper preparation of a machined surface finish and M number before blast.
- Maintaining shot blast centers.
- Blast
- Proper PPE required to operate blast centers.
- Maintaining PPE equipment, cleaning and sanitizing following use.
- Maintaining blast centers.
- Check levels of the blast filtration system.
- Protection of openings, threaded holes, heat/slab numbers, and machined surfaces.
- Proper placement of material in work centers.
- Material Handling
- Ensure work‑in‑process (WIP) material is staged at the proper stations.
- Transport inbound/outbound work center material.
- Operate forklifts.
- Transport product on the Rico with required training.
- Rig appropriate products with overhead or jib crane with required training.
- Stage blasted parts on shadowed carts or skids.
- Other tasks
- Dumping of metal hoppers.
- Weighing refrigerant tanks.
- Moving fixturing and other non‑inventory items.
- 1–5 years of related manufacturing experience
- Blast experience.
- Material handling.
- Shipping/receiving.
- 1–5 years of forklift driving experience.
- Technical knowledge.
- Communication skills.
- Time management skills.
- Certified forklift operator; overhead crane operator.
- Accuracy in identifying, counting, and maintaining records.
- Strong numerical skills: add, subtract decimals, fractions; ability to read, write, and process prints, move tickets, bills of materials, requisitions, CRT transactions.
