Job Summary

Maintenance Technician – NIGHTS ($5,500.00 Sign‑On Bonus)

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through timely, in‑depth troubleshooting and repair of all production equipment and facility auxiliary systems. The role also includes working with machine operators, supervisors, and other maintenance staff to resolve mechanical issues during shifts and proposing solutions for complex problems to management.

Essential Functions
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
  • Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other facility equipment.
  • Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment in accordance with Niagara’s defined processes.
  • Maintain industrial control systems.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to complete repairs safely and in a timely manner.
  • May fill in for production operator as needed.
  • Create and report repairs throughout shift. Complete required work order paperwork and document parts and material usage.
  • Follow plant safety rules, including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation; use personal protective equipment where required.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance to ensure equipment and facility uptime.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • 4 years of experience in a field or similar maintenance environment.
    • 4 years in a similar maintenance position.
    • 4 years managing people or projects.
  • Required Skills
    • Effective communication and issue resolution across multiple departments.
    • Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
    • Proficiency with shop equipment such as hydraulic presses, mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill, lathe, and assorted power tools.
    • Proficient with precision measuring equipment (calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, depth gauges).
    • Willingness to serve as a technical leader and trainer within a plant or machine area.
    • Must have own toolbox and basic tools.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • 6 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
    • 6 years in a similar maintenance position.
    • 6 years managing people or projects.
    • Experience in high‑speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries.
    • Experience with VFD, servo drives, servo motors, rotary equipment, thermodynamics, heat transfer, plastics processing, and HVAC.
    • Experience with Krones, Sidel, or Husky equipment, and with electrical systems (480 VAC & 24 VDC).
    • Proficiency in repairing VFDs, servo motors and controllers, communication systems, PLC input/output cards, and safety modules.
