We are hiring an Electro Mechanical Technician for our Mountaintop Facility in Pennsylvania. This is a 2nd shift position, Monday‑Friday, 3:00 pm–11:00 pm.
PurposeProficient in a multi‑craft skillset, the Technician will replace motor drives, connect to PLC, troubleshoot ladder logic, read schematics, cross‑reference sensors, wire control panels, and perform deep‑dive troubleshooting and parameter adjustments. Overtime may be required.
Responsibilities & Principal Duties- Take an active role in trainings and developing skills in controls and automation as required.
- Participate in software and schematic updates to ensure updated documentation of Cornell equipment.
- Assist the assigned shift and other shifts with breakdowns that the current staff cannot resolve.
- Perform work in preventive maintenance, projects, and machine breakdowns as needed.
- Work safely in a guarded environment and follow all LOTO rules.
- Test all repaired control devices before storage, tagging them with date of repair and condition.
- Complete work assignments in the Maintenance “work order/PM” system.
- Support a team culture that values collaboration and accountability.
- Ability to troubleshoot programs and modify/edit existing PLC, HMI, or CNC controller programs.
- Capability to wire and build control panels for newly developed machines.
- Proficiency with quality inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures.
- Proficient with digital voltmeters and ampere meters.
- Adept at reading and understanding CAD and product drawings.
- Basic arithmetic skills for measurements and calculations.
- Team‑oriented and able to work harmoniously with others.
- Proficient in PC use and Microsoft Word.
- Visual abilities: close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to discern colors and adjust focus.
- Associate’s Degree in Controls and Automation; or
- High School/GED with 7‑10 years experience in automation and controls in a manufacturing environment.
- Licenses/Certifications:
Crane and forklift operation preferred.
