CNC Machinist, Machine Operator
Charleroi, PA:
Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up, program, and operate multi-axis CNC machines to manufacture high-quality precision parts according to engineering drawings and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with CNC lathes and mills, quality inspection, machine setup, troubleshooting, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Set up, program, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment to produce precision components.
- Perform machine setup, calibration, tool changes, and tool management.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment to verify quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make programming or process adjustments as needed.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on CNC equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Operate a forklift as needed after successful certification.
- Assist in training or mentoring less experienced machinists when appropriate.
- Complete additional shop duties and projects as assigned.
Skills:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience preferred.
- Experience with API threads preferred.
- Previous quality control inspection and precision measurement experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Proficiency operating Okuma Multus B400 and Okuma Multus 750 CNC lathes.
- Experience operating Okuma MU500 CNC mills.
- Strong knowledge of G-Code and M-Code programming.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments including calipers and micrometers.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software.
- Ability to become forklift certified.
- Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and commitment to safety and quality.
- Frequently perform repetitive hand movements while operating machinery and handling tools.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently operate machinery, power tools, and foot controls.
- Work primarily indoors in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, industrial noise, chemicals, fumes, and occasional outdoor temperatures.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
- Must possess adequate depth perception, color vision, and peripheral vision to safely perform machining and inspection duties.
