Forklift Operator, Material Handler, Manufacturing & Industrial Operations

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOBOperating fork truck to unload/load delivery trucks, follow warehouse procedures and provide machines with stock in accordance with Company safety and maintenance procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Operate forklift in a safe manner and follow all material handling procedures related to receiving, loading, and/or machine drop off and pickup
- Maintain accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork and scanner/computer.
- Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift
- Research/resolve inventory discrepancies including both raw and finished goods
- Responsible for ensuring quality, inventory count and inventory organization procedures are followed.
- Immediately report all quality, safety, damage or training need issues to a member of the leadership team
- Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
- Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.
- Must keep assigned warehouse/production area clean and neat.
- Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
- Adhere to daily production schedule.
- Communicate effectively with supervisor, team members, and machine Operators.
- Complete necessary paperwork, data entry, reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to:
Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data. - Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
- Additional duties may be assigned by management.
Fork truck certification by Tyoga
TRAINING and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED and 1 – 5 years manufacturing and/or warehousing experience operating fork truck
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and be able to read a ruler/tape measurer.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions, deal with problems involving a few concrete variable standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSThis position regularly sits, uses hands, reaches with arms and requires the ability to talk and hear. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds is required. Close, color and peripheral vision are all required, as is the ability to adjust focus and use depth perception
WORK ENVIRONMENTThis position routinely works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to airborne particles and loud noise levels.
