Single Stage Automotive Painter

Location:

Bethlehem, PA

Monday – Thursday 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (4x10 Schedule) $20 to $26

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Single-Stage Automotive Painter to apply high-quality paint finishes to vehicles, heavy equipment, and metal components. This role is ideal for a precision-minded technician with strong surface preparation skills who takes pride in producing clean, consistent single-stage finishes while maintaining safety and quality standards in a fast-paced shop environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare vehicle surfaces and metal parts for painting by washing, sanding, masking, and priming.
  • Mix single-stage paints, primers, and clear components according to precise formulas and manufacturer specifications.
  • Operate spray guns and painting equipment to apply even, defect-free single-stage topcoats.
  • Inspect finished surfaces for runs, sags, dust nibs, or color inconsistencies, performing touch-ups as needed.
  • Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot paint sprayers, spray booths, ventilation systems, and shop tools.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and OSHA regulations regarding chemical handling and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with body shop and production teams to keep projects on schedule and document completed work.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent vocational training in automotive refinishing.
  • 3+ years of experience in single-stage automotive or industrial spray painting.
  • Strong knowledge of paint mixing, color matching, surface prep, and spray gun setup/maintenance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with ability to identify and correct surface defects.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team-oriented shop environment.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, wear a respirator, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
  • Commitment to safety, quality craftsmanship, and maintaining a clean work area.
