The Church of the Good Samaritan seeks an Associate Rector to join the clergy team in sacerdotal ministry — ministering the Word and Sacraments, with oversight of Family Ministry, community building, and teaching the gospel with sincere warmth and authentic conviction.

Hans Urs von Balthasar's 1975 essay on the priesthood puts it this way:

The priest I am looking for… would have to be commissioned and authorized from above, by Christ, to confront me with God's incarnate word in such a manner that I can be sure … that I have not from the very outset emasculated [this word] by psychologizing, interpreting, demythologizing it away to such an extent that it can no longer create in me what it wills…

But she must also help me to stand firm, not to run away, by sitting it out with me with an unrelenting love. With a terrible love which again and again says to me, ‘But that is what you really want.’

One way we embody this mission is by serving as a hub of daily connection through Christian formation programs for all ages, Sunday lunch, community events, and outreach ministries.

• Clergy oversight and support to our Children's Ministry Director and program.
• Ensure high-quality Anglican formation for the Children's Ministry.
• Nurture the growing community of young parents within the parish.
• Assist with a weekly Bible study for young parents.
• Grow participation of non-attending Good Samaritan Day School families.
• Assist with our various ministries.

• A heart for, and experience in, oversight of Children's Ministry.
• Excellent communication skills, especially in preaching, teaching, and writing.
• Ability to be collaborative and flexible.
