Job Summary
PMHNP – Outpatient, Child & Adolescent. In collaboration with a physician, provide care to new or established patients. Demonstrate autonomy in patient evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow‑up care. Order testing as deemed necessary, interpret results, and prescribe medication and therapeutic regimens within the scope of the nurse practitioner license. Other duties may include triage, telephone communication, and patient education.
Responsibilities- Assess and establish presumptive diagnoses and implement treatment plans for the patient population.
- Make accurate and complete entries in the electronic medical record; order and interpret diagnostic testing, consult as appropriate, and prescribe evidence‑based medical therapy.
- Prescribe, adjust or discontinue medications or therapies as appropriate.
- Evaluate and report to the collaborative physician any circumstances or approaches to medical management or test results that present a significant risk to patient health or well‑being.
- Perform procedures within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner license.
- Communicate with collaborative physician, patient, primary‑care provider and referring staff via telephone or other means of correspondence.
- Instill confidence in patients, acting as an advocate by providing safe, ethical care and health education in a language they can understand.
- Interpret and follow policies and guidelines to define procedures and meet goals and deadlines.
Education:
Master’s Degree – Nurse Practitioner (required)
Certifications and Licenses:
Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) – of Pennsylvania;
Certified Nurse Practitioner – American Academy of Nurse Practitioners;
Basic Life Support Certification – Default Issuing Body.
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
QualificationsPMHNP required. Child & adolescent experience preferred.
