Job Summary
Geisinger offers a per diem inpatient RN position with market‑leading pay rates and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.
Responsibilities- Complete assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
- Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
- Formulate, coordinate, and provide care plans as established in unit standards, including patient‑ and family education, family needs and discharge planning in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise care plans based on patient response.
- Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members, proactively resolving and facilitating patient needs.
- Problem‑solve, troubleshoot, and take corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment.
- Participate in unit‑based decision‑making regarding the utilization of evidence‑based practice.
- Actively participate as a team member toward unit and organizational goals, and be accountable for unit and system‑specific metrics.
- Participate in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety.
- Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
- Be accountable for satisfying all job‑specific obligations and complying with all organizational policies and procedures.

Hours include 7:00a.m. – 7:30p.m. or 7:00p.m. – 7:30a.m. Shift: rotation.
Education and CredentialsEducation:
Graduate from Specialty Training Program – Nursing (Required). Bachelor's Degree – Nursing (Preferred).
- Basic Life Support Certification – Default Issuing Body.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) – RN State of Pennsylvania.
