RN Tele​/Med Surg - IST Rate; AHN Team, Northwestern

General Overview

Allegheny Health Network internal staffing team registered nurses assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients and families. The role is fully responsible for patient care quality and operates as a licensed nurse within Northwestern Pennsylvania hospitals, primarily at AHN Wexford, Grove City, and St. Vincent Hospital, with potential travel to additional locations.

• Lead and mentor team members, assigning duties based on patient needs and staff skill level.
• Serve as charge nurse when assigned, managing staff duties and lunch coverage.
• Maintain a safe and efficient environment, assessing patient conditions and predicting outcomes.
• Provide verbal and written feedback to peers and support staff to improve clinical practice.
• Participate in interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and enhance clinical care and health services.
• Promote patient safety initiatives and departmental quality projects, including evidence‑based population care.
• Ensure appropriate order sets are used and delegate LPN responsibilities as appropriate.
• Utilize the nursing process—assessment, planning, evaluation, and implementation—to create patient care plans aligned with physician orders and hospital policy.
• Analyze patient data relative to norms to determine care needs, and promptly notify supervisors or physicians of changes.
• Accept assignments outside primary unit and perform duties within competency limits.
• Engage in continuous learning and share knowledge with peers through professional organizations and evidence-based practice.
• Participate in systematic peer review and seek feedback from patients, peers, and supervisors.
• Meet time‑and‑attendance policies and actively contribute to patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Communicate compassionately with patients and families, addressing and resolving concerns.
• Work rotating shifts with 24/7 coverage, managing time effectively to meet shift responsibilities.

• Current license as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania (or multi‑state license through eNLC).
• Certifications:
  
  Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance, Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance, Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting, CPR – American Heart Association.
• Minimum of one year travel nursing experience.
• Preferred certifications in specialty area.

Hourly rate of $28.50 to $44.44, with a premium rate of $65/h for inpatient travel team assignments. Base pay is determined by qualifications, experience, and expected contributions.
