Job Overview
We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at Family Dollar in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities- Assist with day‑to‑day store functions and activities.
- Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns.
- Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor, maintaining seasonal areas.
- Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
- Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
- Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts).
- Maintain store areas—sales floor and stockroom—in accordance with company standards.
- Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, and ensure all associates follow company policies.
- Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
- Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and trash areas, and restock supplies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with local licensing requirements for sale of alcohol and tobacco, providing required background information.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; required ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics).
- Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs, frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
- Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment.
- Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Knowledge of safety, loss prevention, and compliance procedures.
