The Dermatology sales force primarily drives demand following regulatory approval for assigned products. The role focuses on educating healthcare providers within dermatology practices, clinics, and hospitals to optimize business opportunities and achieve sales goals.
How You Will Contribute- Support account onboarding through education.
- Engage in clinical selling activities, delivering the clinical value proposition and advancing customers across a brand educational continuum.
- Support initial clinical and patient access education for medical staff.
- Coordinate and support clinical education opportunities and programs for HCPs, such as peer-to-peer education.
- Conduct account management activities within dermatology practices, clinics, outlets, and independent physician offices.
- Attain sales goals and objectives by delivering product volume and other key metrics in the assigned territory.
- Establish professional working relationships with health‑care provider decision makers, support staff, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver a targeted sales message to HCPs supporting patients’ safe and effective use of the assigned product.
- Execute local marketing strategies, leveraging resources and collaborating with company teams to enhance business results.
- Present complex clinical and business information to dermatologists, health‑care professionals, and decision‑makers.
- Develop and implement medical education opportunities and sponsor programs to expand knowledge of healthcare professionals.
- Strategically manage allocated resources, including financial budgets and medical affairs.
- Exemplify Takeda’s patient‑first values and uphold high standards of customer satisfaction while adhering to compliance policies.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS).
- 3+ years of successful selling experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or relevant clinical/industry experience; OR 2+ years of successful selling experience at Takeda.
- Experience calling on dermatologists or dermatology experience highly preferred.
- Demonstrated business and strategic planning skills to identify unique selling opportunities and adapt to changing market conditions.
- Demonstrated understanding of managed care landscape.
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Strong collaboration skills and success working in teams.
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography.
- A minimum of 5 years’ direct selling experience to healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device or healthcare industry.
- Experience in calling on dermatologists.
- Experience with managing and communicating complex reimbursement issues.
- Position and continued employment are contingent upon successfully passing mandatory product training, which includes written and oral examinations.
- During the training period, the employee will be classified as a non‑exempt employee, eligible for overtime under applicable law, but ineligible for sales incentive programs.
- Training will consist of live instruction, independent study, role play, and other activities, totaling up to 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week.
- After successful passage of training examinations, the employee will transition to exempt status, no longer eligible for overtime, and eligible for incentive programs.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to drive and/or fly to accounts and occasional business meetings.
- Some overnight travel of up to 25–50% may be required depending on geographic assignment.
The hourly wage range for this position is $63.51–$87.31. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, disability and life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, holidays, and well‑being benefits. U.S. employees may accrue up to 80 hours of sick time and 120 hours of paid vacation.
