This role is a field-based Regional Sales Manager position responsible for driving equipment sales for Lindner Recycling tech America in the Northeast U.S., focused on industrial shredding and recycling systems in a high-potential market.
Position overview
Lindner Recycling tech America is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to lead equipment sales in the Northeast Region, focusing on mobile and stationary shredders and recycling systems for waste, metals, plastics, C&D, and related applications. The ideal candidate is a quota-crushing industrial equipment salesperson with deep experience in the recycling and waste industry and a proven ability to build territory revenue and market share.

Lindner Recycling tech America supports sales, installation, and service across North America, with the Northeast representing a major growth territory with significant untapped opportunity in waste, recycling, scrap, wood, plastics, and alternative fuels markets.
Key responsibilities
- Own and grow equipment sales across the Northeast Region, targeting recyclers, transfer stations, scrap processors, waste haulers, wood processors, plastics recyclers, and industrial end users.
- Prospect and develop new business, from initial outreach and consultative technical discussions through proposals, demonstrations, and closing capital equipment deals.
- Manage the full sales cycle: opportunity qualification, site visits, application analysis, equipment specification, pricing strategy, and contract negotiation.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline, accurately forecast sales, and consistently achieve or exceed assigned quotas for machines and systems.
- T ravel approximately 60% of the time within the region for customer meetings, plant walkthroughs, equipment demos, trade shows, and industry events.
- Use and maintain the company CRM to track leads, opportunities, activities, quotations, and customer communications, ensuring clean data and timely reporting.
- Collaborate with service, engineering, inside sales, parts, and leadership teams to deliver excellent customer experiences and long-term lifecycle support.
- Provide market feedback on competitive activity, pricing, customer needs, and product performance to help shape regional strategy and future growth.
- Represent the company professionally at trade shows, association events, and customer-facing industry meetings.
- Maintain a disciplined territory plan with regular account reviews, sales call planning, follow-up, and opportunity management.
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of successful field sales experience selling industrial equipment, machinery, or heavy capital equipment into the recycling, waste, or scrap industries.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding annual sales quotas, with documented results in territory growth, deal size, and margin performance.
- Strong understanding of recycling and waste processes and the ability to translate customer needs into equipment solutions.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% of the time throughout the Northeast Region by car and plane, including overnight trips as required.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with owners, executives, plant managers, and operations teams.
- Self-starter mindset with strong territory management discipline and the ability to work independently while aligning with company sales strategy.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the territory as needed
Preferred background
- Direct experience selling shredders, balers, screens, crushers, conveyors, or similar heavy equipment into recycling, C&D, waste-to-energy, plastics, wood, or scrap applications.
