ResponsibilitiesIn this position, you will guarantee adherence to the Anthracite Coal Mining Laws. It encompasses offering support to the public and delivering safety recommendations to the mining sector. The gathered information will be entered into the Department of Environmental Protection's electronic data system to maintain the integrity and precision of the data.
You will be responsible for upholding safety standards and enforcing regulations related to the installation and functioning of electrical equipment. Additionally, thorough inspections of electrical apparatus will be conducted across anthracite deep coal mines, preparation facilities, and storage areas to mitigate risks associated with accidents and ensure reliability of electrical equipment.
Schedule and Additional Information- Full‑time employment
- Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch
- This position may require you to be on call 24/7
- Multiple positions may be filled from this posting as they become available in Schuylkill, Carbon, Dauphin, Northumberland, Columbia, Lackawanna, and Luzerne counties
- Salary:
In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable
- Five years of experience in underground anthracite coal mines of Pennsylvania as a mine electrician or electrical engineer and training through standard high school or vocational school, OR
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training
- Possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license
- You must meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement
- You must be able to perform essential job functions

- 2.5‑hour computerized multiple‑choice exam covering the Anthracite Coal Mine Act No. 346, Principles of Electricity, Effective Working Relationships (total 100 questions)
- Maximum 2 ½ hours to complete the exam
- One month after exam you may retest—new application required
- Results will be provided via email; only most recent score is counted
