Trans-Bridge Lines, Inc., a family-run business celebrating its 84th year, is currently seeking a full-time experienced mechanic. The company is accepting applicants from those with a career in the industry, or those who have been a mechanic and would like to get into the busing industry.
Trans-Bridge Lines seeks individuals who possess a positive attitude, accepts scheduling challenges, and takes pride in their work.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Perform various mechanical repairs and maintenance on the Trans-Bridge Lines buses, support vehicles, and company cars.
* Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Ability to read and understand basics of shop and service manuals.
* Must be able to provide own tools.
* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
* Punctual to work.
* Understand union environment and the need to be flexible due to seniority and business needs.
* Able and willing to work 2nd (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) or 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM) to start. Shift may vary based on seniority and business need.
Education and Experience:
* Must have a valid driver's license.
* Diesel Mechanic experience strongly preferred.
* Diagnostic equipment knowledge preferred.
* CDL license preferred (required for 1st and 2nd Class Mechanic).
* Mobile Air Conditioning (MAC) certification preferred
* PA and/or NJ State inspection license preferred
Physical Requirements:
* Must pass drug and alcohol screenings and DOT physical exam.
* Be able to lift in excess of 75 pounds, push, and pull in excess of 100 pounds.
* Be able to stand, bend, squat, twist, turn and reach.
* Be able to have full use of fingers and hands.
* Must be open to shift work.
* Be able to work holidays and weekends when needed.
