THE POSITION

- General Maintenance:
Plan, prepare, and conduct maintenance on buildings, grounds, mechanical systems, trails, signage, and more - Equipment Operation:
Operate and maintain tools, vehicles, tractors, and specialized maintenance equipment safely - Infrastructure Repairs:
Make carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and HVAC repairs to district structures - Road Work:
Use assigned equipment to construct, maintain, and repair state forest roads and related features - District Support:
Assist with snow removal, facility protection, supply delivery, and other operational needs - Vehicle Care:
Perform routine service, troubleshoot issues, and install parts and accessories
- Seasonal, full-time employment with no health care benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment in March 2027.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday - Thursday and 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Monday is a scheduled day off.
- Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
