Clarks Summit State Hospital is actively recruiting an Electrician 1 to support the safe and reliable electrical operation of the facility. The position involves maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems across 40 buildings on a 152‑acre campus.
Responsibilities- Maintain and repair electrical equipment and lighting following established safety standards.
- Install conduit, raceways, wiring, switches, outlets, and related electrical devices.
- Diagnose electrical problems and address issues quickly and safely.
- Conduct scheduled inspections of electrical equipment and document findings.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and maintenance paperwork.
- Guide lower‑level employees on basic assignments.
- Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM with a 30‑minute lunch break (hours may change as required).
- 12‑person rotation for weekends and on‑call holidays.
- Travel and overtime as needed.

- Successful completion of the Electrician Trainee program or four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Valid journey‑level electrician license issued by a local Pennsylvania jurisdiction.
- Active motor vehicle license.
- Pennsylvania residency requirement met.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
- Conditional offer requires a medical examination.
- Position falls under the Older Adult Protective Services Act and requires satisfactory criminal history clearance (PA State Police and FBI).
