Job Summary
The Electro-mechanic II takes a lead role when working with Electrical systems and Maintenance teams. This position is responsible for performing electrical and mechanical installations, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment. The Electro-mechanic II must understand Programmable Logic Controlled (PLC) systems, ladder logic and have the ability to troubleshoot and repair these systems. In addition, the position supports overall facility maintenance including basic plumbing, snow removal, event preparation, basic construction, painting, etc.

The candidate will plan work around production schedules, work with a sense of urgency to ensure continuous production, and complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently while promoting all safety policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include periodic training on system operation and maintenance, assisting with SOP creation and cross‑training into other job functions, and routine attendance at departmental, production, safety and Company meetings.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Electrical Maintenance – Perform testing, diagnostic, maintenance and revision work on machine tools and systems, including NC and CNC controls, PLC hardware and software, control circuits, electro‑mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Maintain and repair plant power distribution systems. Apply electrical knowledge to research and identify electrical components and parts.
  • Corrective and Breakdown Maintenance – Repair and maintain machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment per diagrams, sketches, operating manuals or supervisor instructions, using hand and power tools, precision measuring or testing devices. Diagnose machine malfunctions, dismantle equipment to examine parts, replace defective parts, and assemble and test operations to verify corrections.
  • Basic Fabrication and Repair – Maintain and lubricate machine tools and equipment, following preventive maintenance schedules to ensure safe working order.
  • Physical Structures and Grounds – Maintain and repair physical structures of buildings and grounds, including snow removal, basic plumbing, HVAC and basic carpentry.
  • Installation, Troubleshooting and Upgrading – Install conduit, electrical wiring, air/water/hydraulic piping or other systems required for proper machine installation with minimal direction, read blueprints, schematic drawings and diagrams, and assemble and test machines to verify safe working order and proper functionality.
  • Mentoring and Leadership – Mentor and lead Maintenance team members as needed within the area of expertise.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Required
  • Associates Degree in Electro‑mechanics or related field, Apprenticeship, or High School Diploma/GED with equivalent 5 years industrial electromechanical experience.
  • 5+ years experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and machine shop tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read, make and modify electrical line diagrams, schematics and blueprints.
  • Experience installing and modifying Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), PLC programming (Allen Bradley, etc.).
  • Experience running conduit, relays, terminations, and motor control wiring.
  • Advanced knowledge of AC and DC motor drive controls.
  • Proficiency with multimeter, amp‑meter, oscilloscope and other electrical test tools.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability.
  • Team and independent work capability.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment (loud, dirty, confined spaces).
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Experience in major mechanical and control system upgrades/revisions.
  • Valid PA driver’s license with ability to drive 24,900 lb box truck or flatbed with manual or automatic transmission.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing setting with high‑pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous fumes, extreme heat or temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dust, and requirements to wear PPE (safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots, earplugs).
