This position supports the construction, repair, and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment used in daily operations at Warren State Hospital. As a Semi‑Skilled Laborer, you will perform the following duties:
- Building Maintenance: Handle small repairs such as carpentry, painting, electrical fixes, and plumbing tasks.
- Grounds Care: Maintain outdoor areas by mowing, pruning, clearing debris, and removing snow.
- Equipment Use: Operate hand and power tools and assist skilled trades workers during larger projects.
- Material Handling: Load and unload supplies, move furniture or equipment, and transport materials as needed.
- Facility Support: Clean buildings and outdoor spaces to help maintain a safe and orderly environment.
- Vehicle Upkeep: Check and service vehicles and equipment to keep them in proper working order.
- Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday—Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
- Overtime and travel as needed.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction, or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- This position requires possession of a valid PA non‑commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
