Electrical Group Leader

This is supervisory electrical work directing a group of full performance electricians engaged in maintaining and repairing high and low voltage electrical systems and equipment. Employees in this class plan and assign work, participate in more difficult repairs, and ensure jobs are completed in accordance with standard electrical trades practices and the National Electrical Code. Work is performed under the general supervision of a higher level maintenance or trades supervisor.

Work involves conditions which can only be partially controlled, potentially hazardous, and requires physical effort.

• Direct a team of full performance electricians in maintaining and repairing high and low voltage electrical systems and equipment.
• Plan and assign work to the team.
• Participate in more difficult repairs.
• Ensure all work complies with standard electrical trades practices and the National Electrical Code.

• Four years of experience in the electrical trade.
• Two years of electrician experience at the full performance level in the installation and repair of electrical systems utilizing switch gear, relays, and powered by at least 440 volts.
• Possession of a valid Electrical Contractor’s license issued by the Philadelphia Department of Licenses and Inspections, if required by job assignment.
• Ability to physically perform the duties and work in the environmental conditions required of a position in this class.
