Position: Medical Device Technician - 20+hr

TOPS Staffing is currently hiring a Medical Device Repair Technician for a growing equipment service and repair operation. This position is ideal for mechanically and electrically inclined technicians who enjoy troubleshooting, hands‑on repair work, and working independently. Unlike many field service roles, all repairs are completed in‑house—no customer visits, overnight travel, or on‑call responsibilities. You'll work in a clean, professional environment supporting the repair and refurbishment of specialized medical equipment.

Schedule

& Compensation
  • Monday‑Friday; flexible start times available between 6:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
  • 8‑hour shifts (4‑day/10‑hour schedule may be available).
  • Overtime opportunities available.
  • Pay:
    Up to $23.00/hour based on experience.
  • Growth potential:
    Advancement opportunities within the department, with Senior Technicians earning $30+/hour.
Position Overview

This role is responsible for evaluating, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing medical equipment returned for service. Technicians work from established procedures and technical documentation to diagnose issues, replace components, and ensure equipment is functioning properly before being returned to service.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair medical devices and electronic equipment.
  • Inspect incoming units and determine required repairs.
  • Replace defective mechanical and electrical components.
  • Perform testing and verification of repaired equipment.
  • Read and follow schematics, repair procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Complete repair records and required quality documentation.
  • Support quality and engineering teams with troubleshooting and process improvements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Biomedical Technology, or related technical field preferred.
  • 2+ years of repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, or technical service experience.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read schematics and technical documentation.
  • Experience with electronics repair, device repair, maintenance, or troubleshooting preferred.
  • Experience working in an FDA, ISO, or other regulated environment is a plus.
