Plumber Supervisor; 1st Shift; Warren State Hospital

THE POSITION

The Plumber Supervisor position with the Department of Human Services offers the chance to lead skilled staff and guide important plumbing projects. This position oversees skilled plumbing and pipe fitting work that supports safe and efficient facility operations. The role ensures proper planning, installation, repair, and documentation of plumbing systems and components. As a Plumber Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

• Supervisory Leadership:
  Direct the daily work of Plumbers and other trades staff while ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently
• Work Assignment Planning:
  Evaluate routine and specialized installation, repair, and maintenance work orders assigned to staff
• System Compliance Oversight:
  Ensure plumbing systems meet all codes, regulations, and quality standards during installation and repair
• Complex Problem Solving:
  Troubleshoot and resolve difficult repair or replacement issues involving unclear or incomplete schematics
• Interdepartment Coordination:
  Collaborate with other trades supervisors and management to support renovation and construction project needs
• Project Planning:
  Develop plumbing project plans that include cost estimates, materials, labor needs, and timeline requirements

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.

• One year as a Plumber 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Three years as a Plumber 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Six years of experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing components and fixtures including three years performing plumbing installation and repair assignments independently in commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential structures; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes three years performing plumbing installation and repair assignments independently in commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential structures.

• This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
