County Caseworker 1 – Montour County Children and Youth

Description of WorkThis role focuses on supporting families from the time they are referred to the agency through the completion of services. You will work in homes, offices, and community settings to help families reach safety and stability.
- Family Meetings:
Meet with families regularly in various settings to understand needs and guide progress. - Service Coordination:
Work with service providers to support family goals related to safety and self‑sufficiency. - Case Documentation:
Complete data entry and maintain accurate case records for agency use and court testimony. - Crisis Response:
Provide crisis intervention during urgent situations and participate in scheduled on‑call rotations. - Policy Compliance:
Follow all DHS regulations and agency procedures related to client services.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, with a 1‑hour lunch.
- Shared On‑Call:
Participate in on‑call rotations. - Telework:

- Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 plus two years of college‑level coursework including 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences; or
- A bachelor’s degree that includes or is supplemented by the successful completion of 12 college credits in the same fields; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 12 college credits in these fields and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
- Applicants meeting these educational requirements within two months of graduating will be considered eligible.
- Pennsylvania residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must possess a valid, non‑suspended driver’s license.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the Child Protective Services Law. A conditional offer will require satisfactory criminal history reports, including Pennsylvania State Police clearance, Pennsylvania Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance.
