Drug & Alcohol Case Management Specialist Trainee - Local Government

This role introduces you to the full scope of drug and alcohol case management through guided training and supervised practice. You will learn how to support clients and coordinate services that address a wide range of needs. As a Drug & Alcohol Case Management Specialist Trainee, you will perform the following duties:

• Assessment Training:
  Learn assessment techniques to gather important information from clients and support identification of service needs
• Care Level Support:
  Assist in determining the correct level of care based on established guidelines
• Service Authorization:
  Help review funding options and recommend appropriate drug and alcohol services
• Client Orientation:
  Guide clients through program procedures and the treatment process
• Service Planning:
  Develop and adjust client service plans using assessment results
• Resource Coordination:
  Connect clients with available drug, alcohol, and ancillary services

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Occasional work will be required after regular business hours.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Dependency, Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Nursing or a related field; or a Bachelor’s Degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 18 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, criminal justice or other related social sciences; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

• You must pass a background investigation.
