Senior Software Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Group Operations Technology team. This hybrid role combines business analysis and hands-on development, enabling you to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions. You will work across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), partnering with cross-functional teams—including Business Analysts, Architects, and global engineering teams—to deliver modern, high-quality enterprise applications. This role also offers opportunities to contribute to modernization initiatives and leverage AI-enabled development practices to enhance productivity and innovation.
YouWill (Job Responsibilities):
- Design, build, and deliver scalable, high-performing customer-facing web applications using modern frameworks and cloud technologies
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and business stakeholders to deliver robust and intuitive user experiences
- Translate business goals into technical solutions that meet performance, scalability, and usability requirements
- Innovate and modernize technical solutions to solve complex business challenges
- Partner with engineering teams to develop, test, and deploy applications using modern development practices (CI/CD, Agile)
- Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and maintainability across applications
- Contribute to launching impactful digital products that enhance customer experience and drive business value
- 4+ years of experience delivering resilient, high-performance, public-facing web applications with measurable business impact
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript/Type Script and modern frameworks (Node, React, Next, NestJS, Jest)
- Strong experience architecting large-scale applications and mentoring teams on best practices and standards
- Expertise in API development and integration (REST, GraphQL), including third-party systems
- Experience with microservices, micro-frontends, and technologies such as Redis (preferred)
- Strong understanding of web fundamentals (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and performance optimization (core web vitals)
- Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, product, marketing)
- Hands-on experience with modern development tools, testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of security best practices, including OWASP and handling of PII data
Location
- Three days a week at a Guardian Location in New York, NY, Bethlehem, PA or Holmdel, NJ
Salary Range:
$95,170.00 - $
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
