A Day in the Life of a CDL Driver (Class

A)

As a CDL Driver (Class

A)
, your day may begin by loading equipment for delivery, reviewing your route, and ensuring all paperwork is in order. From there, you’ll transport equipment to customer locations or between Land Pro dealerships using a tractor trailer or other assigned vehicles.

You’ll interact directly with customers during deliveries and pickups, secure loads properly, gather signatures, and represent Land Pro professionally on the road and at each stop.

You may also provide basic operating guidance to customers and help ensure equipment arrives ready to work.

When not transporting equipment, you'll assist with equipment preparation, inspections, and delivery readiness to support dealership operations.

This is a role for someone who values independence, responsibility, and doing things the right way.

Every day is different, but the goal is always the same: deliver safely, support the team, and take care of the customer.

What You’ll Do

As a CDL Driver (Class

A)
, you will:

  • safely transport equipment to and from customer locations and Land Pro facilities
  • load, unload, and secure equipment for transport using proper tie-down and safety procedures
  • support the sales team with equipment deliveries and customer handoffs
  • maintain accurate pickup, delivery, mileage, and time records
  • obtain required customer signatures, receipts, and delivery documentation
  • maintain DOT, Clearinghouse, OSHA, and company compliance requirements
  • perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
  • help maintain assigned trucks, trailers, and equipment in good working condition
  • provide customers with basic equipment operating guidance when needed
  • deliver dependable service that reflects outstanding service
  • work closely with internal teams to support dealership operations
  • assist with equipment setup, assembly, and attachment installation
  • perform pre-delivery inspections to verify equipment is operating properly before delivery

What You Need to be a Land Pro Class A CDL Driver:
  • valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
  • ability to safely load, secure, transport, and unload equipment
  • knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety practices
  • ability to complete required logs, records, and paperwork accurately
  • ability to pass required DOT physical/drug screening requirements
  • strong time management and route planning skills
  • ability to lift, climb, and work around equipment safely
  • high school diploma or equivalent experience
It’s a Plus if You Have:
  • experience hauling agricultural, construction, turf, or heavy equipment
  • experience operating trailers, lowboys, or equipment transport setups
  • familiarity with load securement, chains, straps, and binders
  • equipment setup or pre-delivery inspection experience
  • forklift certification
  • customer service or delivery experience
  • basic mechanical knowledge of trucks or equipment
