With us, you will be responsible for transporting Correctional Industries (CI) Laundry Operation freight and for training and overseeing inmate workers who load and unload freight.

This role focuses on completing freight transportation tasks and guiding inmates who load and unload freight to support the CI Laundry Operation. As a Corrections Equipment Operator, you will perform the following duties:
- Operate Vehicles: Operate tractor-trailers, trucks, and other motor vehicles to complete work
- Maintain Equipment: Perform routine vehicle maintenance, safety checks, and minor equipment repairs
- Oversee Inmate Workers: Train and monitor inmate workers in the proper methods for loading and unloading trailers, making minor equipment repairs, following safety tips, and completing bills of lading
- Prepare Reports: Complete and turn in maintenance-related receipts, reports, and logs; prepare routine reports to help track inmate attendance, work, and pay
- Support Safety and Compliance: Secure work area, inventory all work tools and materials, search inmates and work areas for contraband
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

You will not have the option to telework in this position. - Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,925 (before taxes).
- Two years of experience in the operation of tractor-trailer trucks or a combination of experience and training which affords the applicant the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
