ResponsibilitiesThis position supports the day-to-day functioning of the Selinsgrove Center by assisting with transportation, grounds upkeep, and general operational needs. It involves physical tasks, routine inspections, and the use of tools that help maintain a safe and well-kept campus environment. As an Equipment Operator A, you will perform the following duties:
- Equipment Operation: Operate mowers, trucks, buses, tractors, and other machinery to support campus needs
- Grounds Maintenance: Mow, trim, and clean outdoor areas including lawns, walkways, and parking areas
- Safety Inspections: Complete pre-trip checks and document findings on required reports
- Manual Tasks: Load and unload materials and use hand tools to complete assigned duties
- Weather Response: Assist during snow removal, sidewalk clearing, and other seasonal needs
- Support Tasks: Perform additional assignments based on supervisor direction and operational needs
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- The following shifts are available:
- 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM), with a 30-minute lunch. Requires working every 4th weekend (Saturday and Sunday). After working a weekend, you will have the following Monday and Friday off.
- 2nd shift (12:00 PM to 8:00 PM), with a 30-minute lunch. Requires working every 3rd weekend (Saturday and Sunday). After working a weekend, you will have the following Monday and Friday off.
- Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

- Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more;
or - Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must have possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
- This position requires that candidates possess a valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with air brake endorsement at hire.
- You must obtain passenger endorsement to your Class B CDL within 6 months of employment.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
