POSITION SUMMARY

The Clerical and Retail Instructor at The Rehabilitation Institute (TRI), is responsible for instructing consumers according to established curriculum in their designated specialty area. This includes office and clerical skills and computerized stock inventory/retail. The Instructor will also be responsible for developing other means of instructing consumers who need special assistance, while teaching consumers the necessary skills to obtain a position in their designated work readiness field.

DUTIES,

RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provides direct instructional support to students within the Work Readiness program.
  • Develops, maintains, and adheres to a curriculum which will be within the limits of the trainees’ abilities.
  • Re-evaluates the needs and limits of clients and updates curriculum accordingly; keeps up with new developments in respective fields.
  • Orders program specific supplies and maintains accurate inventory.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment in compliance with Department of Health regulations.
  • Assists in the development of forms and procedures within the designated training area.
  • Assists with updating and maintaining billing records.
  • Assists DVE staff in identifying and selecting individuals for the Work Readiness training program.
  • Delivers instructions on basic mathematical concepts and the use of common business forms.
  • Utilizes Microsoft applications to support training activities and documentation.
  • Prepares and completes progress reports for students enrolled in TRI’s program.
  • Ensures that all required documentation (paper and electronic) is completed/processed appropriately, in a timely manner, and meets quality and compliance thresholds.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Meets all job requirements and stays in compliance.
  • Adheres to FREE’s standard of ethical behavior as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct as well as applicable laws and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience:

    A minimum of two (2) years of experience in one of the following areas is required: special education vocational training, work readiness training, teaching, and/or human services field experience.
  • Previous experience working with adolescents or adults with disabilities preferred
