Role Overview

The Universal Banker (UB) Supervisor acts as a single point of contact for Apple Bank clientele, providing prompt, courteous, and efficient service for new and existing customers. This “jack of all trades” role requires the ability to serve as a Supervisor, Customer Service Representative, and Teller, delivering quality customer service and supporting branch sales and service efforts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service by engaging clients in a friendly and professional manner and resolve service‑related issues timely and efficiently.
  • Conduct business ethically, thoroughly communicating to current and prospective clients the facts and features of the various products, accounts, and services that Apple Bank has to offer.
  • Oversee the assigned branch in a leadership capacity in the absence of branch management.
  • Approve or override financial transactions, utilizing due diligence and sound judgment to minimize risk and potential loss.
  • Assist with training and mentoring of newly hired Tellers, Customer Service Representatives, and Universal Bankers, and ensure staff adheres to customer service standards and new‑account procedures including CIP and BSA requirements.
  • Provide customer‑facing staff with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems.
  • Assist with the resolution of issues and ensure a mutually favorable outcome for the Bank and our customers; elevate issues to appropriate business partners for resolution when needed.
  • Open, close, and oversee the banking office under established guidelines when required.
  • Recognize opportunities to acquire new or additional banking relationships by engaging customers and prospects, understanding their needs, and offering suitable products and services; make appropriate referrals to licensed representatives of ABS Associates of NY, Inc.
  • Assist in opening and closing the vault, safe, and ATM machine, and keep the customer area orderly and properly supplied (deposit and withdrawal tickets, ATM envelopes, rate boards, dates on writing desks, etc.).
  • Communicate all disclosures, rules, and regulations covering transactions, and FDIC protection to customers upon opening new accounts.
  • Ensure accurate new‑account record‑keeping practices and perform timely follow‑up as needed.
  • Adhere to regulatory, compliance, security, and audit policies and procedures, as well as the code of conduct and operational controls to ensure safety and security of client and Bank assets.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.
Skills, Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years retail banking experience in the combined roles of Teller and Customer Service Representative.
  • 1–2 years bank supervisory experience in either the teller unit or platform required; full cross‑training preferred.
  • General understanding of banking operations (Risk, Compliance, Fraud, Loss, etc.) preferred.
  • Prior experience fostering and developing strong customer relationships.
  • Ability to develop and maintain detailed knowledge of banking products and services.
  • Willingness to be cross‑trained in other branch functions.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to provide solutions to customer issues.
  • Confident, professional, and positive demeanor toward customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills; excellent phone skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail orientation.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Availability for weekend work, extended hours, or filling in at neighboring branches; occasional travel required.
  • Visa sponsorship not available.
