We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem Pulmonary Function Tech - Bethpage.

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing Pulmonary Function testing which includes Lung Volumes, Spirometries, and Diffusion Capacity. Perform Methacholine Challenges as required. Responsible for performing daily quality assurance on the equipment to ensure the quality and validity of the tests performed.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs Pulmonary Function Testing. Performs FVL, FVC, Lung Volumes, DLCO, MVV as required. Checks and validates physician order for testing procedure.
• Performs Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing.
• Performs Methacholine Challenges. Efficiently schedules patients. Reviews schedule with Pharmacy to ensure optimal utilization of Provocholine.
• Maintains testing equipment. Generates appropriate paperwork to permit the interpretation of Pulmonary Function tests.

To qualify you must have an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy, a CoARC-approved RT program, and an American Medical Association approved Respiratory Therapy Program. Current and valid New York State Respiratory Therapist (RTT) License or Respiratory Therapy Technician License. Current NBRC registration as Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). Basic Life Support (BLS) Required. Excellent communication (oral and written), customer service, and interpersonal skills.

Basic computer skills. Understands admitting protocols for outpatients.

Respiratory Therapy Tech-NYS

1-2 years Pulmonary Function Testing experience preferred.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Salary information:
The salary range for this role is $28.71 - $48.40 hourly. Actual salaries depend on factors including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
