Overview

The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing detailed inspections of complex, close tolerance machined parts, subassemblies and final assemblies. This role supports in-process to full First Article and final inspection activities using established inspection plans and a wide range of conventional inspection equipment. The inspector ensures compliance with internal, customer and regulatory quality requirements throughout manufacturing, special processing and final acceptance.

Responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of precision machining, mechanical assembly, and close-tolerance inspection methods.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T per ANSI/ASME Y14.5M, and related charts and tables.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply advanced shop mathematics, including trigonometry, for dimensional verification and inspection calculations.
  • Experience with in-process, First Article, and final inspection methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of conventional inspection equipment and measurement techniques.
  • Knowledge of inspection requirements related to special processing and finishing operations.
  • Experience generating nonconformance documentation and supporting corrective action activities.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems for inspection record keeping and quality data compilation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of High School diploma or 2 years of trade school or vocational education.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in mechanical assembly and inspection techniques, preferably involving hydraulic components.
  • Strong MS Office and ERP systems knowledge.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government.
