Nurse Practitioner – Cath Lab

The St. Francis Heart Center eph’s Hospital, led by a team of world‑renowned interventional cardiologists from St. Francis Hospital, will give residents in Nassau County access to lifesaving cardiac procedures such as percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). PCI uses a catheter to place a stent and open the heart’s blood vessels that have been narrowed by plaque buildup.

Overview

The Center enhances our existing diagnostic catheterization program by offering immediate cardiac care to patients who present eph’s with a heart attack or other significant cardiac issue. St. Francis doctors can perform an intervention to open the artery through stenting when disease is discovered during a diagnostic catheterization. The ability to restore blood flow and save the heart muscle for patients within 90 minutes is critical.

St. Francis Hospital cardiothoracic surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and other interdisciplinary team members who have expertise in all types of heart surgery will support the St. Francis Heart Center eph’s Hospital.
