Position: Small to Medium Business Sales Account Executive

Job Summary

The Account Executive at Optimum is responsible for driving revenue by managing client accounts, building relationships, and networking within assigned territory to close deals. They act as the primary point of contact and face of Optimum brand between the company and its clients, ensuring customer satisfaction while meeting sales targets.

Responsibilities
  • Prospecting & Lead Generation:
    Identify potential clients through research, networking, and outreach; qualify leads and schedule meetings or demos; work assigned leads and turf.
  • Sales Presentations & Negotiations:
    Present products and services to prospective clients using a consultative approach; negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to close deals.
  • Account Management:
    Maintain strong relationships with existing clients; upsell or cross-sell additional products/services; follow orders to completion including held orders, construction, and changes needed from Account Managers.
  • Pipeline & Forecasting:
    Manage CRM tools to track opportunities and progress; maintain 50‑point day and daily mapping in Salesforce; provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to management.
  • Collaboration:

    Work closely with Operations, Customer Success, Retention, Account Managers, and Regional Sales Managers to deliver seamless onboarding and exceptional post‑sale client satisfaction to earn referrals.
  • Market & Product Knowledge:
    Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings; develop a deep understanding of the company's products and services to clearly communicate their value.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 2‑4 years of college preferred.
  • Minimum 2‑3 years of field‑sales experience to small/medium businesses.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Self‑motivated with a knack for working independently.
  • Proficient computer and technical skills; able to support customer solutions.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing; driver’s license requirement applies to the state of current residence.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, and walk as required.
  • Availability to work full time.
  • Preferred:
    Sales‑centric mindset, strong interpersonal skills, deep product knowledge, digital proficiency (CRM, POS, digital platforms), and ability to adapt to new technologies.
