- Retail Resources team is looking for a National Account Associate role. This role is designed for individuals who want to start their career in customer service and grow into a National Account Associate position. This entry‑level role begins with hands‑on training in our Customer Service team, where you will learn the fundamentals of order management, customer support, and internal collaboration.
Over time, you will transition into supporting national accounts, gaining exposure to account management responsibilities, sales operations, and cross‑functional coordination. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is customer‑focused, detail‑oriented, and eager to develop a career in account management within a dynamic retail organization.
This role is day shift, M-F and will sit onsite in our Long Island, NY (Bethpage) office location.
Note:
This location does NOT have convenient access to a bus stop.
- Handle inbound calls and emails to process orders (50–100 daily) accurately and efficiently.
- Provide pricing, delivery information, and assist customers in product selection.
- Investigate and resolve customer issues, including shipping discrepancies and credit requests.
- Communicate with internal departments (Warehouse, Accounting, Purchasing) to resolve inquiries.
- Enter sample orders and follow up for feedback and potential conversion to sales.
- Utilize AS400 and WLS systems for order and inventory management.
- Partner with other National Account Coordinators and their assigned National Account Sales Managers and Field Sales Reps to support our accounts.
- Execute sales operational processes such as new customer onboarding, price maintenance, and item setup.
- Track and report on sales opportunities using CRM tools (MS Dynamics, Smart Sheet).
- Involved with forecasting, account reporting, and operational implementation of new business opportunities.
- Serve as liaison between internal departments and national accounts to ensure smooth execution of processes.
- Participate in projects aimed at streamlining operational workflows and improving customer experience.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree OR 3+ years of customer service experience.
- Excellent communication skills and proactive problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, CoPilot & Power BI).
- Familiarity with AS400 a plus.
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and build strong relationships internally and externally.
- Analytical mindset with ability to learn sales operations practices and apply them effectively.
- High level of maturity and confidence necessary to interact with sophisticated internal and external clients.
- Strong leadership and customer service skills with the ability to ensure that a high level of service and quality is maintained.
- Product knowledge with clear technical understanding of services to be able to effectively communicate to customer.
- Excellent project management, organizational and planning skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects and meet deadlines.
- Outstanding attention to detail, flexibility and creativity.
- Persistence coupled with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment, work with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality of shared information and/or assignments.
- Bunzl target pay range for this role is $55,000 -$65,000, based on education, experience & location.
