Dal‑Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Sales Representative to join our team. As the Sales Representative, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as conducting weekly sales calls, reports, and market analysis for top accounts in the region.
Expected Base Pay RatesExpected base pay rates for the role will be between $52,000 and $65,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the compensation package, which depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long‑term incentive packages, and other company‑sponsored benefit programs.
PrimaryObjective
Increase market share and sales for the Dal‑Tile SBU in the prescribed region. Increase account base by servicing existing customers and expand account base through cold calling.
Primary Function and Scope- Conduct weekly sales calls, including servicing existing customers and cold calling potential customers (average 4–5 cold calls per week).
- Prepare weekly “Sales” and “Call” reports.
- Develop monthly strategy for sales calls and prepare monthly travel calendar based on that strategy.
- Conduct area market analysis of top accounts in each area – including top dealers, contractors, and builders.
- Research market product data to determine the types, styles, and sizes most commonly purchased in the area to shape sales strategy.
- Grow market share by increasing sales and sales volume while maintaining company‑approved product margin goals.
- Complete “Positive Action Forms” for all cold calls resulting in a display, rack, and/or sale.
- Utilize influence and negotiation skills to sell and/or place displays in customers’ showrooms.
- Conduct client follow‑ups via phone calls, letters, and/or emails.
- Establish and maintain client files and perform timely follow‑up on programs and projects.
- Provide PK seminars to customers.
- Utilize “On Demand” reporting to achieve sales objectives.
- Perform other duties as required.
- High school diplomas and some colleges are highly preferred.
- Computer skills include functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes/email.
- A clean driving record and reliable transportation are required.
- Four years of prior selling experience.
- Prior customer service experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to work in an unstructured, unsupervised environment is required.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work under little or no supervision.
- Must possess proven interpersonal skills including influencing and negotiation skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to exercise independent judgment and demonstrate solid time management and organizational skills.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee may sit, climb, balance, talk, or hear.
