1.0 FTE Position Starting Salary: $50,000+ (BA 0-4, 1.0 FTE, 2025-26)
Required Qualifications:
Must have or be able to obtain Iowa certification and 5-12 Industrial Technology endorsement. Applicants must have valid U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or an active work visa. Alternatively, individuals with industry experience in automotive repair, maintenance, or power mechanics who are eligible for a CTE Authorization or alternative certification pathway are encouraged to apply.

Bettendorf High School is seeking a passionate and skilled Industrial Technology Teacher to join our dynamic Career & Technical Education (CTE) department. We are looking for an educator with expertise in auto maintenance, power mechanics, and related trades who is eager to engage students in hands-on, real-world learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver engaging coursework in automotive maintenance, power mechanics, and general industrial technology
- Create hands-on learning opportunities to prepare students for careers in automotive and skilled trades
- Maintain a safe and organized workshop environment, ensuring proper use of tools and equipment
- Collaborate with local businesses, technical schools, and industry professionals to expand student learning opportunities
- Support student participation in CTE-related extracurriculars, competitions, and career pathways
Candidates must meet Iowa teaching licensure requirements. The following endorsements are preferred (but not required alternatives will be considered):
- Industrial Technology Auto (CTE) (142)
- Industrial Technology Manufacturing (CTE) (143)
- Industrial Technology Power/Transportation (CTE) (144)
- Industrial Technology (IT) (14)
Background in automotive mechanics, small engines, diesel, or related trades Ability to teach hands-on, project-based learning Knowledge of current industry tools, technology, and certifications (e.g., ASE certification a plus) Strong classroom management and student engagement skills Willingness to collaborate within the CTE department and develop strong community/industry partnerships
