Join our team as a Para educator at Edison Academy, Bettendorf Community School District's alternative high school. In this role, you will support students in a flexible, relationship-focused learning environment by working alongside teachers and staff to help students achieve academic, behavioral, and personal success. We are seeking compassionate, dependable individuals who are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of students.

Hours:

Up to 5.75 hours/day Hourly Rate: $19.42

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working with students in a school setting preferred.
• Experience supporting students with diverse academic, behavioral, or social-emotional needs is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers in providing instructional support to individual students and small groups.
• Build positive relationships with students while encouraging academic engagement, responsibility, and personal growth.
• Support the implementation of classroom expectations and behavior support strategies.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in a professional manner.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with students, staff, families, and the public.
• Demonstrate flexibility, patience, and the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Participate in required training and professional development opportunities.
• Must have valid U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or an active work visa.
