Staff Nurse - UI Health Care Bettendorf Psychiatry 50%

The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered 50% Staff Nurse to work within our Psychiatry Clinic located in Bettendorf, IA. We use a patient-centered care approach—a partnership between you and your team of providers, nurses and therapists—to develop a treatment plan that meets your needs. This position will mainly support Psychiatry but could also support other service lines/clinics based on clinical needs/hours.

Our Staff Nurses develop relationships and get to know our patients and monitor each family member's health care history and deliver personalized, compassionate care every time to each patient. Duties to include:
Staff will support our Psychiatry Clinic and will float to other clinical areas based on staffing need. Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness. Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations. Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings. Telephone tirage to support Bettendorf clinics;
Dermatology, Family Medicine, Endocrinology, and Pediatric Outreach. Develops patient care plan based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes. Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities, which includes interventions identified through nursing diagnoses. Documents/reports interventions and patient/family response. Collaborates and integrates contributions of patients and families into multidisciplinary patient care plan.

Develops, coordinates and implements transfer/discharge planning throughout episode of care. Implements nursing interventions according to department, division, and/or unit policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Follows universal precautions.

Percent of Time: 50% (20hours per week)

Schedule:

Variable hours, 7:30 AM – 5:00, no weekends, no holidays and no on-call time
