Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to support quality systems, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for maintaining inspection and calibration programs, managing audits, resolving quality concerns, supporting PPAP submissions, and ensuring products meet customer and industry requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong familiarity of quality assurance, problem-solving, and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calibrate and maintain inspection tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct internal audits and support customer and third-party audits.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints, warranty claims, and supplier quality issues.
  • Review and assist with the disposition of non-conforming materials and products.
  • Support development and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare and coordinate PPAP documentation and customer submissions.
  • Monitor quality metrics, maintain statistical data, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) using structured root cause analysis methods.
  • Assist with employee training, quality awareness, and qualification programs.
  • Participate in contract reviews and support inspection activities as needed.
  • Manage technical documentation, including blueprints, specifications, and quality records.
  • Coordinate release of customer orders in partnership with Quality Management.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Manufacturing Quality Systems.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards, auditing practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience handling non-conforming materials, corrective actions, and supplier quality concerns.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid role with responsibilities split between office and production floor environments.
  • Regular exposure to manufacturing operations and shop-floor activities.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) required in production areas.
  • Occasional exposure to loud noise and industrial equipment.
  • Standard schedule of 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, primarily based in Bettendorf, IA, with occasional travel to the Orion, IL facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bettendorf, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
