Campus Monitor

Pleasant Valley High School is seeking a Campus Monitor. The position involves a variety of responsibilities to ensure the safety and welfare of students during classroom and non-classroom activities. The goal is to minimize harmful incidents and communicate observations that impact the well-being of students, school personnel, and visitors.

Performance responsibilities include:

• Communicating district and school safety policies to students.
• Documenting and reporting incidents through two-way radio and maintaining various files and records.
• Escorting students, personnel, and visitors to ensure safety and site security.
• Intervening in potential conflicts and emergency situations.
• Monitoring school facilities and directing strangers to appropriate locations.
• Monitoring student behavior in various settings to ensure compliance with guidelines.
• Participating in unit meetings and training for job function performance.
• Patrolling campus parking lots to monitor traffic flow and ensure a safe campus.
• Referring incidents to administrators for follow-up.
• Reporting incidents and assisting in preparing documentation.
• Responding to inquiries regarding campus security issues.
• Responding to various situations to resolve safety and security concerns.
• Surveying student behavior and visually scanning areas to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Assisting in opening and closing facilities.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the building principal.

The position requires medium work, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly. It also involves stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, and hearing frequently. The candidate must remain mobile throughout the workday.
