SET Active is a fast-paced, growing women's athleisure brand known for elevated everyday essentials designed for movement, comfort, and lifestyle. We're a small but mighty team with big ambitions, and we're looking for a detail-oriented Technical Designer to help bring our product vision to life.

Position Summary

The Technical Designer supports the development of apparel from initial development through production. Working closely with Design, Product Development, and Production, this role helps ensure garments meet SET Active's fit, construction, quality, and measurement standards.

The Technical Designer will participate in fittings, provide technical fit comments, maintain tech packs and specifications, support grading, communicate with vendors, and help resolve fit and construction issues throughout development.

This is a hands‑on, detail-oriented role for someone with a solid understanding of apparel construction, fit, grading, and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities Technical Design
  • Support assigned styles from initial development through final fit approval.
  • Participate in fittings and provide clear, actionable feedback on fit, construction, and measurements.
  • Communicate fit comments and revisions to vendors and internal teams.
  • Measure and review samples to ensure they meet approved specifications and fit standards.
  • Identify fit, construction, and measurement issues and work with the team and vendors to resolve them.
  • Support grading across size ranges and maintain accurate graded specifications.
  • Track fit rounds, sample updates, and approvals for assigned styles.
  • Help ensure final production reflects approved fit, measurements, and construction.
Product Development & Collaboration
  • Work closely with Design and Product Development to translate design intent into production-ready garments.
  • Partner with Production to track samples, communicate revisions, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Participate in fabric, trim, and lab dip approvals as needed.
  • Communicate technical updates and changes clearly across teams.
  • Support the team in meeting development and production deadlines.
Vendor & Sample Management
  • Communicate with domestic and overseas factories regarding fit comments, specifications, grading, and construction.
  • Track samples, including development, PPS, TOP, marketing, and photoshoot samples.
  • Review samples and communicate necessary corrections to vendors.
  • Help ensure samples are received on time for fittings and approvals.
  • Follow up with vendors on outstanding technical updates and revisions.
Tech Packs & Documentation
  • Create and maintain accurate tech packs, BOMs, measurement charts, fit comments, and technical specifications.
  • Update specifications and technical information following fittings and sample reviews.
  • Maintain organized records of approved measurements, fit comments, and sample notes.
  • Support the maintenance of fit standards, templates, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure technical changes are accurately reflected in product documentation.
Experience
  • 2–4+ years of technical design experience in apparel, ideally within active wear, lifestyle, or a similar category.
  • Experience with garment construction, fit, measurements, and grading.
  • Experience participating in fittings and providing technical fit comments.
  • Experience creating and maintaining tech packs, BOMs, measurement charts, and specifications.
  • Experience reviewing samples and identifying fit, construction, and measurement issues.
  • Experience communicating technical updates and fit comments to domestic and overseas vendors.
  • Working knowledge of grading across size ranges.
  • Experience working with Design, Product Development, and Production teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization with the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in PLM, Illustrator, Excel, and other technical design/product development tools.
