Complex Operations Associate
OverviewThe Complex Operations Associate is responsible for executing all complex operations activities, including entering client orders, accepting and disbursing clients’ funds and securities, and any other tasks that support the effective functioning of the complex’s cage operations.
Responsibilities- Ensure all buy and sell orders not executable through the BETA Link order entry system are entered accurately and timely with appropriate management approval.
- Facilitate the timely correction of trade-related errors and cancel/rebills in accordance with firm and regulatory policies, obtaining necessary approvals and maintaining documentation.
- Enter syndicate indications of interest and tickets from FA/CA/BSM by firm deadlines, fully completing documentation and securing management approval.
- Accurately record cost basis changes after obtaining management approval and maintain records per firm policy.
- Process all DTC requests with complex management approval.
- Record checks received from clients, credit them to proper accounts, transmit daily deposit checks to Minneapolis, and promptly notify FAs or associates of all received checks.
- Record securities and/or coupons received from clients, credit them to proper accounts, and transmit required information and documentation to Minneapolis daily.
- Adhere to all compliance policies and procedures, completing required internal continuing education activities.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with RBC’s Code of Conduct.
- Perform general office tasks such as opening and distributing mail, stamping outgoing mail, handling faxes, and maintaining operations-related files as required by complex main office and firm policies.
Must-have
- Minimum 1–2 years of general office experience (financial services preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job-related experience
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail‑oriented with good math and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple demands and competing priorities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment
